If aeroplane seats could talk what would they say? It’s a question we’ve all asked ourselves many times. No? Just us then. Either way, the airline seat in this video can indeed talk, and helpfully he explains how he’s being given a new lease of life after decades of service in a plane.
That new lease of live is being given due to the magic of upcycling, thanks to Looptworks, an eco-conscious design and production company. Looptworks specialise in ‘rescuing’ high-quality materials from manufacturers and transforming these materials into new – but equally high-quality – items; there are no hastily chucked together pieces here, it’s all cool-as-you-like goods galore – from laptop sleeves to wallets to duffle bags to T-shirts to tote bags, and all of it looks brand spanking new. Plus, it’s all made in factories that employ fair labour practices, which is another weight off the world’s mind.
As our friendly aeroplane seat points out, the upcycling manufacturing process creates jobs, conserves resources and reduces pollution. See? We just knew that plane seats are actually really wise and on-point when it comes to upcycling.
